About Laura

Life's too Short...

Life’s too short not to do what you love, so I’m passionate about everything I do.

I’m quirky, I admit it. I love sci-fi movies, action sports, painting in my studio and motorcycle rides through the countryside with my man.

What makes me happiest is doing something difficult very well. The way I accomplish that? I choose challenging goals and throw myself into it 110%. I approach complex tasks the same way I do a BMX trick: I break it down into smaller, manageable parts, and then work out each bit until I’ve got it right.

There’s no magic to what I do – it’s hard work, creative problem solving, and the willingness forge on if I get stuck. The payoff? The thrill of accomplishment and the joy of learning something new. For some, it might be easy to do what’s comfortable. For me, pushing my limits is more rewarding.

Professional Profile

I work independently often – but I believe that two heads are better than one, and a group that works as a team is a brilliant thing. I’m all about moving the project forward and doing my very best, and I hope it shows in my work here in the featured work samples folio.

I feel fortunate that my current day job (freelance graphic designer and web developer) offers me a variety of tasks to do. I enjoy navigating between troubleshooting, problem-solving, and creative expression.

I’m so lucky to be in the company of loving, extraordinary people in my personal life, and it motivates me to excel in every endeavor. Please enjoy Mark and I riding our BMX bikes on my BMX instagram. Also take a peek at my favorite paintings in my featured artwork folio.

About this Website

I’m showing site credits so you can see where I made smart choices and where I put in some elbow grease. Working with premade free themes and plugins keeps my overhead costs low and my development time short. The GavickPro theme was chosen for its simplicity, well written code, and the way the folio galleries work and use the featured image in wordpress posts.
