I’ve enjoyed working with a major candy company for the past few years – mostly taking photos and doing renders of their products. Here’s a photo shoot I did for their bulk products line; and it was a lot of fun! For their privacy, I’ve only shown candy without the branded stamps.
These all ended up getting cropped into circles for the catalog – but I’ve shown the full photo here so you can see how many possibilities there are with the photographs.
The Art of Gum Shui
So, you think they just fell out of the bag looking that good? Hell no! I spent hours rearranging gumballs for the 100 + product photo session. It was epic Gum Shui – The Art of Arranging Gumballs!
As you can tell, I really enjoyed this very zen project, and I think the results show in the photos. The client was thrilled, and has used the photos since.
Camera Setup Snapshots
To keep the photos consistent from shoot to shoot, I have a habit of taking detailed photos of the entire camera and lighting setup, including different angles. I then use those references later if I need to take another candy at the same angle and light. I’ll share with you a few of those camera setup shots so you can see what I mean:
I hope you found this one delicious! Let me know what you think in the comments below.
